How the AIR charts work

The AIR charts are a sales based chart for independent labels and musicians.
Each week we receive raw sales data from ARIA, we then extract the independent artists and voila! Independent Chart complete.

AIR produces a weekly set of charts for albums and singles as well as charts that differentiate between types of distributor. For more info on this differentiation visit the About the AIR Charts page.  

A number of monthly charts are also compiled for specific niche genres. These Charts provide details of the Top 10 selling albums released by Australian independent artists with independent distribution. Monthly charts appear the first week of month proceeding sales period.
