Welcome to the Jagermeister Air Charts! These charts are the only independent trade body charts in the world. It’s a place for music industry professionals and fans alike. The AIR Charts are different from the ARIA charts because we focus on Australian artists released by Australian independent labels. You won’t find music from majors here, just the cream of the crop of Australia's diverse and thriving independent music sector. Here's a few important things to keep in mind
- These charts DO include digital purchases
- 100% indie means independently released via an independent distributor. (just not Sony BMG, Universal, Warner or EMI)
- Indie means independently released via any distributor.
- The D*Star radio charts are Australia's first radio airplay charts based on real airplay statistics gathered by D-Star Spins throughout all metropolitan and selected regional areas throughout the country. The data includes all commercial stations as well as Triple J, selected community and ABC stations, giving a wide snapshot of what independent music radio are supporting.
A major part of AIR’s charter is to draw greater public attention to the independent sector as a whole. Our charts give independent artists the chance to shine amongst their peers. The Australian Independent Record Labels Association Charts are different from the ARIA charts because we focus on Australian artists represented by Australian independent labels. You won’t find music from multinational majors here, just the cream of the crop of Australia's diverse and thriving independent music sector. For some of our independent artists, making a dent on the ARIA charts, against the might of a major label’s marketing and publicity departments as well as their bottomless recording budgets is an impossible task and although the pool of artists eligible for the AIR charts is smaller than the ARIA charts it’s certainly no mean feet to be amongst the highest selling independent artists in Australia. |
