Find yourself  3 like-minded musicians, lock yourself in a rehearsal room between the hours of 9 and 5 and start writing songs for your dream band.  Do it for 6 months. Don’t play a gig, just develop your sound. That’s it. Do it now with all the discipline of a CPA at tax time.

I heard that a band from Melbourne did that a couple of years ago. They’re called [ME]. When they finally started playing gigs 2 years ago, they’d come out of 6 months of rehearsals with an a mature, complex bold sound and an absolutely killer live show. It must have required incredible self belief and a faith in the music they were creating.

I’ve been trying to find a reasonable and original comparison for their sound… Maybe a leaner, fitter, younger, hipper Queen? either way, it's certainly a bombastic, balls to the wall operatic experience. Rock indulgence.

It’s full on but it’s also magic. The musicianship is impeccable and the band are decent lookin blokes too. Oh yes, I’ve seen the ladies swoon!
